Dear New Agent

Starting a career in real estate is inevitably like being plunged into the deep end of the swimming pool.
We will do our best to inform you of what you need to know and what you need to achieve over your first three months in our overview called
Your First 90 Days in Real Estate

Welcome into the deep end and be very aware you are surrounded by those who are here not just to keep you afloat, but to make sure you are heading in the right direction and doing laps with ease as soon as possible.

Your First 90 Days in Real Estate has been prepared by the Devler management team not just to inform you of what we expect from you in the next three months and what you need to expect from yourself.  It is not meant to detail every step of the way, but to give you a reliable guide to the journey ahead.

Our objective is to identify the different stages ahead so that you can both
(a) plan and understand what is going to be done and when with a clear objective that after 90 days you will be fully informed and if you still do not know something you are at least aware of what you don’t know and
(b) in a productive situation at the start of your productive new career.

Your first 90 Days in Real Estate comprises the following stages:

Day 1 to 3)  Interviews & Assessment – this will include some assessments to make sure you are the right fight for the Devler team and a real estate career (we have an obligation to encourage you if you are likely to succeed and to discourage you if this is not the case) ; We will discuss personality traits, technical competence and financial means.  The final part of this stage is a meeting with our Managing Director Sally Gracie who makes the final decision about all new agents and staff.

Day 3)  Sales Associate Contract – this will be completed with your Sales Manager

Day 4 to 6)  Onboarding (Agent Admin and Account Set-up) – It takes a few days to register you on all the various Chas Everitt and Estate Agency Affairs Board systems and accounts as well as those of the various service providers we use.  (Some items will not be ready within three days and will depend on suppliers)

Day 5 to 8)  Understanding your Zone / Farm Area –  You are required to understand the ‘lay of the land’ in your area before you make any contact with clients.  This stage can be completed by you with guidance from the Sales Manager as soon as you have access to Lightstone.  A verbal test will need to be completed to show that you have prepared yourself as to your familiarity with your Farm Area and Zone.

Day 9)  Orientation 1 – Your Support Team – You will spend some time with different members of staff and management to understand what they do.  During this time you will be introduced to various systems we use but you will not be trained on them at this time.

Day 10)  Orientation 2 – Rentals – You will spend some time with Rental support staff and management.  During this time you will be introduced to various systems we use but you will not be trained on them at this time.

Day 11)  Orientation 3 – Training and Marketing Manager – You will spend some time on line with our Marketing Manager who will cover the marketing of property and the marketing of yourself.  Andre will also run through a number of other orientation topics to make sure you understand Devler’s unique proposition as a real estate business to you the agent and to our clients.
