Food Parcel Handover Dates – 2013

These are the 2013 dates for our Food Parcel handovers following our first, given to residents at Mez Wallach Old Age home in Muizenberg.
A reminder our objective is to handover 500 in the course of a one year period that started with Mandela Day!

If you wish to raise 500 food parcel donations (or shopping vouchers) and if you would like to contribute please message us and we will arrange collection!

June 2013 an all time Devler (June) record!

In Cape Town real estate we do not expect too much from winter months, but June 2013 has been a record.

June 2013 has been the second best month of the year so far, but it is the best June since we started trading as Chas Everitt or even prior to that, as ERA Steer.

My congratulations to a fired up team of both sales agents and of course our star administrative support. Really proud of your exceptional achievements!

It has been a long time since we have seen a lengthy period of good news in real estate – but now after six outstanding months – we can surely say that the property market has well and truly recovered!  We are also seeing the return of activity at the top end of the market and all this despite the banks keeping the most stringent lending criteria in place.

House prices up by 11.8%

Absa House Price Index shows that house prices in the middle segment of the market increased by 11.8 percent year-on-year in March 2013

The increase followed a revised 10.9 percent year-on-year rise in February, when real price growth was 4.8 percent year-on-year, so this is a very encouraging trend however nominal year-on-year house price growth appeared to be peaking in some categories of the middle-segment.

Usually we can be well guided by professional agents about the property itself and the buyer is reasonably protected by legislation, but what about the actual security of the home and the neighbourhood?  What are the security expectations you have for yourself, your loved ones and your possessions in the home that you are planning to buy?

Security has become a major consideration in buying a property and the reason why many people are inclined to invest a premium on one property in an area over another or to buy a home in a gated estate.  This can however be little more than an illusion of safety and security if you have neglected to do a little detective work of your own.
